Hryhorii Skovoroda, Ukraine’s treasured poet and philosopher was a leading figure in Ukraine’s cultural renaissance in the 18th century. In May his historic home in Kharkiv Oblast was destroyed by a Russian artillery strike, along with a museum of his work.

This year, on December 3, the world philosophical community is celebrating the 300th anniversary of the outstanding Ukrainian philosopher Hryhorii Skovoroda.

On November 22, 2022 at 6:00 p.m., the Philosophy department will hold a round table in remote mode on the topic: “Philosophy of Hryhorii Skovoroda and modernity.”

World Philosophy Day is an international day proclaimed by UNESCO to be celebrated every 3rd Thursday of November. It was first celebrated on 21 November 2002.

The Department of Philosophy has started classes of the international project Jean Monnet Module “European approach in charge of ethical, legal and socio-economic artificial intelligence policy (EU ic AI policy)”. The teachers of the department successfully conducted the first lectures and practical classes on the Module.
